The Department of Facilities and Fleet Management Property Management Division is seeking a talented, highly qualified, and energetic individual interested in furthering a career in public administration in a team -oriented, challenging, friendly workplace. This position serves as facilities planner for improvement projects and special projects within Prince William County.

ABOUT THIS ROLE:
This position serves as a departmental facilities planner, facilitating the budgeting, scope and implementation of new/maintenance projects, cyclic furniture replacement, create new office layout and other office improvement projects, small scale building alteration and renovation projects. This position is responsible for defining new project scope, cost, and schedule, control and monitoring internal standards, interpreting and facilitation client/user agency needs as they relate to design and then managing all aspect of the process through the design, into implementation. This position will interact and works with consultants, code officials, end users and other internal and external government agencies as they relate to a project.

The successful candidate must be able to multi-task, understand and work with furniture vendors, contractors and be a team player. The ability of understanding design and construction processes is a must. This is not an entry level position and will require ability to work with, regulatory agencies, and cross-functional teams. Must possess a valid driver’s license, the ability to pass a background check if needed for a project and an educational background in architecture, engineering, planning or similar profession. Experience with project management or comparable type design and implement projects will be considered in lieu of a professional degree.

A. An individual who is a self-starter, proactive, with a take- charge approach to all aspects of project management is highly desirable.
B. Have strong management and coordination skills and the ability to work with all kinds of people and personality type to facilitate the develop project scope, initial budget, schedule.
C. Have excellent understanding of office facilities design and develop office layout and provide team leadership.
D. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals, semi-professional, county employees.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm. Work hours may be flexible and occasional telework is available as approved by the Assistant Director of Property Management.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Experience using AutoCAD software.
  • Experience using Microsoft project management software.

ENTRY SALARY RANGE:
Entry Level $30.07 to $35.00
