Job description

The Facilities Manager ensures accounts receive full, requested productivity and quality levels. Develop and maintain full communication within the region, facility and corporate offices. Manage the facility as a separate entity/profit center. Ensure that all licensing and permits are in place as required by state and local law.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis of workload as compared to maintenance manpower

and equipment.

  • Ensure work schedules are in place and promote efficiency.
  • Review all equipment preventative maintenance schedules and work orders.
  • Make sure meetings are held reviewing safety issues.
  • Perform annual review of vendor contracts, determining and recommending annual increases to the General Manager Operations.
  • Review and coordinate all shift paperwork.
  • Audit all billing activity for accuracy.
  • Properly sign and authorize all purchase order requisitions, vouchers and customer billing.
  • Ensure that all paperwork is handled in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate all alarm-monitoring systems and review sprinkler system testing.
  • Implement and direct programs to ensure the safety of all equipment, personnel and property.
  • Execute safety and sanitation schedules that ensure the facility’s compliance with Corporate, OSHA, FDA, AIB or ASI standards.
  • Maintain the company standards of housekeeping.
  • Ensure the painting and sanitation of lines and slot numbers.
  • Manage proper stacking heights for accounts and review contractual guidelines to ensure proper rate application.
  • Coordinate all activities with sanitation department.
  • Account and correspond based on all deficiencies of product receipts and claim issues within the warehouse.
  • Ensure all bays are consolidated to provide the best efficiency of space availability.
  • Act as the primary trainer to supervision.
  • Participation in department or company meetings.
  • Paperwork is standard, but must be accomplished properly.
  • Must be able to make the right decision for the company and the account.
  • Must be able to prioritize work energies on inbound versus outbound versus sanitation.
  • Must be familiar with mechanics and use of various types of rail and MHE equipment.
  • Must ensure that cost controls are followed to ensure the facility is operating in accordance with budgeted numbers.
  • Must obtain all necessary certifications relative to OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT and FDA approved HACCP training when applicable.
  • Must be able to review/recognize damage - warehouse versus rail versus truck line and guard systems against damage.
  • Conduct warehouse inspections in absence of/or with General Managers.
  • Act as point of contact for all fire, safety and sanitation inspections.
  • Develop local vendor contacts to supply facility.

Requirements:

  • Areas contain some poor lighting and ventilation.
  • There will be exposure to noise, dust, LPG fumes, product orders, irregular hours, and cold temperatures.
  • Must be on-call for alarm system or problems during off work hours.
  • Subject to evening, weekend and Holiday work schedules.
  • MHE equipment may be LPG or electric.
  • Push-pull, box and roll clamp, single and double forklifts, sweeper, scrubber, work saver
  • Microsoft Office software
  • T-Logic software, UPS
  • FedEx on-line equipment
  • Adding machine.
