Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the design, construction and opening of de novo clinics and the remodel of existing clinics.
  • Be able to create and maintain close working relationships with architects, general contractors and other third party groups required to efficiently build new clinics.
  • Act as a resource for the clinic Managers, Area Operations Leaders and Regional Vice Presidents in dealing with facilities issues arising in the clinics.
  • Have familiarity with national and regional General Contractors and detailed knowledge of commercial constructions costs to assist in the de novo clinic site selection process prior to entering into a lease.
  • Work with Finance and Ancillary Services Groups to create a detailed competitive bid process to be used in the development of new clinics and the remodel of existing clinics.
  • Be able to work as a collaborative team member with the Real Estate Department when creating the Monthly Real Estate Review Presentations for the Executive Management Team.
  • Utilize project management software or develop and manage an Excel based system to ensure all the construction and remodel of facilities are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Interact with Landlords in the facilities management needs of the existing clinics.
  • Participates in multi-departmental teams and committees that potentially affect clinic real estate operations and marketing efforts.
  • Treat patients and co-workers consistent with the NextCare Mission Statement, Vision, Values and Performance Standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or described in Company policy.

How you will make an impact

The Facilities and Construction Management Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and construction of de novo clinics, the upgrade and remodeling of all existing clinics and the overall facilities needs of NextCare leased real estate.


Essential Education, Experience and Skills:

Education: Minimum of Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science preferably in Construction Management

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of experience working for an established general contracting or development company specializing in commercial real estate.
  • Strong working knowledge of PC applications, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and project management software.

Skills:

  • Experience in all facets of the development cycle including design, construction and permitting.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytic reasoning, detail oriented, and creative problem-solving skills. Ability to navigate and resolve complex problems.
  • Hands on knowledge and experience with project management software as well as a fundamental understanding of commercial real estate issues.
  • Self-starter, resourceful, collaborative, and solution oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and to plan, to organize and achieve priorities when performing work.
  • Strong attention to detail including experience with construction drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to interact and correspond independently with architects, general contractors.

Valued But Not Required Education, Experience and Skills:

Education: Minimum Bachelor Degree or higher education

Experience:

  • Have experience in the development of commercial retail or medical office buildings in multiple states.
  • Previous experience creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets, Word documents and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Familiar with Commercial Real Estate Leases and related documentation including Letters of Intent, Leases, Lease Abstracts, Lease Amendments and Estoppels. Hands-on commercial real estate experience with an understanding of operational issues from a Landlord and Tenant perspective.
