Facilities Management Supervisor Job Description

Education Requirements:

Graduate of state accredited high school;

Graduate of technical school or equivalent with major in HVAC, electrical, or industrial technology systems

Experience:

Must have at least five years experience servicing electrical or HVAC systems to include a working knowledge of utility systems; such as electrical distribution/HVAC/plumbing/steam and chilled water systems, fire protection and extinguishment equipment.

Required Skills:

Must have specialized training in technology aspects of utility systems.

Must know JCAHO and other regulatory agencies, standards and codes pertinent to the environment of care of the hospital.

Planning and scheduling methodology; good communication and people skills is mandatory to enable the quality care for customers.

Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace as essential functions of the job.

Honesty and maintaining a professional composure in public are important aspects of the job.

Physical Demands:

Good physical and mental health.

Approved safe driving record, able to climb ladders, lift necessary tools and work without supervision under moderately stressful conditions. Able to perform under delegation style management.

Facilities Mgt Supervisor (GGH)

Promotes and coordinates quality management within the department

Utilizes the engineering and technical process to maintain the hospital building and utility systems.

Utilizes the engineering and technical process to maintain the telecommunication system.

Responsible for meeting Federal, State, and JCAHO standards of safety.

Responsible for Safety Preparedness.

Manages the PMI program, repairs, installations, and maintenance to ensure a safe, efficient and cost-effective operation.
