DESCRIPTION: Responsible for all activities in the day to day operations of the Animal Safety facilities. This includes personnel resourcing and performance, capital equipment and recordkeeping.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. (Duties can be assigned at any Lexington facility.)
- General grounds and maintenance for Lexington buildings
- Upkeep and preventive maintenance of all HVAC
- Works on various building construction projects or remodeling projects as assigned
- Upkeep and common area cleanliness
- Assists in the design and construction of the building construction projects or remodeling project
- Coordinating and supervising outside contractors
- Manage outside Janitorial service for both Lexington facilities
- Scheduling and upkeep on all facility generators, vehicles, equipment, lawn and snow equipment
- Keep track of large projects and update of ISO documents
- Assists in the design and construction of the building construction projects or remodeling projects
- Alerts management as to any issues that may arise in or related to the construction project
- Scope of work to include basic wiring / cabling, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, painting, assembly, and general repairs.
- Obtains quotations and procures necessary materials to perform work.
- Manages preventive maintenance program and performs scheduled preventive maintenance.
- Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with company policies and local laws.
- Participates on the divisional safety committee.
- Trains employees in-house on fork truck operation.
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
- Ability to drive delivery truck.
- Manage up to 5 direct reports – conduct training, performance reviews and coaching as needed
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in maintenance trade or vocational schooling.
- Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, refrigeration equipment, and plumbing systems preferred.
