Fabrication Manufacturing Associates use their blueprint reading skills to measure, cut, and assemble the coated fabric material to build finished products such as radomes, antenna covers, or pretension windows, which provide protection to satellite and radar systems. They perform visual inspections on material and verify conformance to drawings or layovers to ensure the final product is within specification. Any non-conformance is documented and reported.

Requirements
  • Excellent attendance and attention to detail
  • Must be able to work in kneeling, squatting position freqently for short durations throughout shift and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Accurately read a tape measure within 1/16 of an inch
  • Intermediate reading, comprehension and mathematical skills and basic computer skills
  • Willing and able to use a variety of both power and hand tools
  • Prefer - 1+ years experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Prefer - 3+ months experience reading blueprints (preferred - but training can be provided)
  • Willing and able to cross-train and be flexible in the work environment

Work Environment:

  • Production environment with regular exposure to noise and dust
  • May be exposed to cold and/or hot temperatures at times

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to climb a ladder, be comfortable at heights, operate equipment that is in constant motion, use of both hands at working height frequently and periodically above head
  • Able to lift/push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly
  • Able to kneel/squat and stand/walk particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Able to work at floor and elevated height levels frequently
  • Able to work overtime as needed
