YOU

As a Shear operator, you will be responsible for handling all aspects of machine set up and operation while working under strict deadlines to meet customer and company needs.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Read and interpret blue prints. Read and identify bill of materials (BOM) listed on work order. Operate overhead crane to unload material trucks and to set up material on shears as required. Operate CNC machines. (95%)

Work closely with production personnel to maintain accurate reports of inventory. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year CNC shear or manual shear operator experience and/or training required.
• Production knowledge: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
• Mathematics: Knowledge of basic math (addition, subtraction and division).
• Active listening: Give full attention to what supervisor/co-worker is saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
• Ability to work independently: Understand and follow written and verbal instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.
• Self-management: Work independently and take initiative to meet production deadlines.
• Measurement: Ability to use measurement tools such as tape measure, protractor and micrometer.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires no domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Stockton, CA. This is a swing shift position (3:45pm - 12:15am).

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$17 / Hour
