The Pratt & Whitney Oklahoma City Heavy Maintenance Center (HMC) Production Engineer (PE) will provide manufacturing process engineering work instructions and technical guidance to facilitate disassembly, repair, assembly, and testing of gas-turbine engines at the maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in support of production delivery schedule.

Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Read and provide interpretation of technical data as necessary to support production
  • Participate in teams reviewing and investigating process breakdowns; perform root cause and corrective action on parts and processes that are not in control
  • Develop and/or utilize robust standard work and desktop procedures for HMC PE processes
  • Provide timely workscope definitions for engine and/or module repair that are comprehensive, clear, concise, cost effective, and meets customer-defined requirements
  • Approve complex work control documents used for maintaining engine/module hardware
  • Provide disposition to work requests/work package changes using standard work processes and approved technical references for released work control documents
  • Provide technical assistance when verification of proper configuration of engine/module hardware is needed
  • Aid in training mechanics on new tech data that has become available
  • Perform any other related functions or support other MRO production lines as required by management to ensure the success of the enterprise

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college/university w/minimum 2 years of experience OR
  • Advanced degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college/university
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Ability to write concise, easy-to-understand technical work instructions
  • The ability to work in cross-functional teams on a wide variety of tasks and with limited supervision
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be willing to work 1st (0700-1600) or 2nd (1400-2300) shift and work extra time as necessary to ensure completion of assigned tasks. May be called in off-hours to answer process-related questions. 2nd shift is only applicable to F135 HMC.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environmental, Health and Safety regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices

Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • 2+ years process or manufacturing experience on gas-turbine engines
  • Operational experience in an MRO engine facility
  • Engineering degree
  • Knowledge and experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP
