The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Experienced Data Scientist- Trade Controls to join their team. This position can be located in Arlington, VA; Seal Beach, CA; Hazelwood MO; or Tukwila WA.

Position Responsibilities:

• Manage extraction and normalization of data from multiple disparate sources and integrate into a single data warehouse environment

• Engage with engineering partners to capture, prioritize, and implement data aggregation, interpretation, analysis, and visualization capabilities

• Derive data relationships and key insights; communicate findings to cross-functional leadership to inform and influence decision-making

• Partner with engineering, IT, and trade control partners to define data structure/taxonomy

• Produce conceptual and logical data models, partner with system and database administrators to convert the logical data model into the physical database

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher

• 3+ years in software development, with experience in Oracle/SQL and Python

• Proficient with data modeling tools (e.g. SQL, Python, Spotfire, PySpark, RStudio, Databricks, Dataiku, Airflow, Streamsets, Tableau), data modeling techniques, data normalization

• 3+ years developing or deploying analytical models and/or forecasts

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Master’s degree in related fields of Computer Science, Data Science, or Advanced Analytics

• Experience in data analysis with large and complex data sets

• Experience with enterprise data warehouses, programming environments, and internal web-development environments

• Aerospace and/or Defense industry experience

• Familiarity with trade control practices

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).
