Empress Senior Living
BOUTIQUE SENIOR LIVING RESIDENCE IN THE LAURELHURST NEIGHBORHOOD OF NORTH EAST SEATTLE.
Built in 2022, Empress Senior Living is a new Assisted Living and Memory Care community located in the Laurelhurst neighborhood of North East Seattle. The architectural design pays homage to the classic neighborhood masonry commercial buildings common in Seattle neighborhoods with housing above the store. The goal was to achieve a familiar scale and character that would blend into the surrounding residential neighborhood by the careful selection of the building colors and materials. Locating the Bistro, Dining Room, and many of the active uses of the community at street level, Empress will make it's own contribution to the pedestrian realm in an already vibrant neighborhood shopping district.
Empress Senior Living is opening in the fall of 2022 and is hiring an Executive Chef.

Empress Executive Chef will be creative with menu cycles, offer restaurant flair, and creative meal presentation.
Responsible for hiring and training culinary employees in food handling/storage procedures, proper food preparation and pride in their service. Executive Chef will also be responsible for supervising front of the house staff.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Hire, manage and train all dietary dept. personnel
- Oversee all aspects of preparing, planning and presenting meals in the community
- Ensure the upkeep and supply control of all food and kitchen items
- Maintain a sanitary work environment in compliance with all local codes and policies regarding proper storage, handling and serving of food.
- Order and maintain all foods within budgetary requirements while always ensuring quality meals and service for our Residents
- Develop good relationships with Residents to address their special needs, likes and/or dislikes.
- Additional education in food services or management preferred.
- Supervisory Experience or head cook
- Effective communication skills and computer experience including email, and Microsoft Office
- Manage culinary dept. budget, keeping an organized system for ordering and expensing food and supplies
- Have consistent and positive interactions with residents, family members, staff and general public.
- Ability to make decisions in stressful situations.
- Ability to communicate directions to all levels of employees, both in writing and verbally.
- Effective problem-solving skills and strong desire to help those who have questions and problems.
- Able to manage multiple interruptions.
- Must be able to demonstrate patience, compassion and empathy towards employees, seniors and families
