Evening Range Picker/Cart Attendant

Part Time, Non-Exempt

$14.50 to $18.83

Position Summary:

Under the close supervision of the Golf Professional, this position is responsible for a variety of guest service duties and for providing superior customer service for golfers and all other golf course visitors including cart loading, cart cleanliness, staging, and storing.

Essential Duties:

  • Hours 3:00pm-11:00pm, must be able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Greet all guests and provide friendly and courteous service at all times.
  • Manage the golf cart fleet by having each cart washed, cleaned, and ready for use. Hand out cart keys to patrons.
  • Maintains a clean appearance of clubhouse/range/cart area and surrounding areas.
  • Insure driving range is set up for operation each morning and closed properly each evening.
  • Ensure safety practices are enforced.
  • Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis, sub for co-workers when available. Maybe asked to travel to different locations throughout the District.
  • Stage, maintain and put away the appropriate number of golf carts based on the time of day and/or at the direction of the Golf Shop staff. Maintain a full ready line of carts during each shift.
  • Inspect the condition of golf carts with specific attention to their cleanliness and appearance. Immediately report any cart damage or cart in need of repair to supervisor.
  • Pick balls on the driving range, wash them, and keep the ball machines loaded. Collect baskets on the driving range.
  • Recognize emergency and dangerous situations by reacting quickly and calmly, administer first aid as needed. Complete Accident/Incident reports.
  • Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment, resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Correct or inform supervisor of any facility hazards, communicate issues/complaints to supervisor as needed.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, trainings, and orientations.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of golf course operations and golf cart experience preferred.

Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:

  • If driving a motor vehicle for District purposes, must have a current Colorado Driver License and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Provide superior customer service and resolve customer complaints and escalated problems.
  • Ability to work productively with little supervision.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally; establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public.

Material and Equipment Used:

This position regularly uses: golf carts, driving range tractor, hand held radio, leaf blower, pencil and paper. Will also use and operate custodial cleaning supplies and equipment.

Working Environment:

This position is regularly exposed to outdoor wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. Frequent exposure to noise, fumes, dusts, mists, gases, grasses, molds, and fertilizers. Will be required to utilize cleaning materials and have contact with various chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This includes a busy environment subject to continuous interruptions, background noises, variable weather conditions, ecosystems, and landscape.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, exhibit manual dexterity with the ability to handle objects and equipment including the operating a golf cart. Ability to safely lift 25 pounds, unassisted, on a daily basis. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move to a maximum of 100 pounds. Requires the ability to communicate verbally with both children and adults. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone, e-mail, and through face-to-face communication is needed.
