Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is seeking a paramedic to join our Emergency Department!

The Paramedic assists with basic patient care based on individual patient needs within his/her scope of practice under direct supervision of the registered nurse. This position maintains effective working relationships with all customers including patients/families, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. Job duties and responsibilities include:

• Greeting customers upon arrival, notifies the ED registered nurse, and registers the patient.
• Takes, documents and reports vital signs, reporting abnormal results immediately to the registered nurse.
• Receives and carries out instructions accurately and promptly.
• Transports patients as necessary. Assists with moving, ambulating and lifting patients.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety.
• Maintains and prepares room and assists with preparation of equipment for procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is a joint venture with Tenet Healthcare and USPI. We are 30-bed acute care surgical hospital located at 1800 Park Place Avenue in Fort Worth, Texas, that has been serving the residents of Fort Worth and the surrounding communities since 2014.

The hospital provides a wide spectrum of medical services including an Emergency Department, a 30-bed inpatient unit, a 4-bed intensive care unit, a diagnostic imaging unit, 14 operating rooms, including the da Vinci, ExcelsiusGPS, and Mako Surgical Systems. The surgical services Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth provides include, but are not limited to, Ear, Nose, Throat (ENT), Bariatric, General, Pulmonary, Gynecology, Oral, Orthopedics, Orthopedic Spine Surgery, Pain Management, Plastics, Podiatry, Spine, and Urology. Skills:

• High school graduate
• Current EMT or Paramedic certification or Certified Nursing Assistant with 1-2 years ER experience.
• Completion of a basic arrhythmia course.
• BCLS required
• Knowledge of TDH, Medicare, Emergency Preparedness and JCAHO rules & regulations.
• Ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record for patient documentation.

The Paramedic position requires a minimum one (1) year experience in acute hospital setting or ambulance.

• Monday to Friday
• Night shift
