JOB LOCATION: Broit Lifting Outdoor Yard, located in Ft. Myers

ABOUT THE POSITION:

Broit Lifting is growing quickly and we are looking to expand our team. This Yard / Forklift Operator role performs yard duties including but not limited to; loading and unloading material deliveries onto flat-bed trucks and into Bays at the Yard, maintaining organization in our yard, keeping inventory of supplies in the tractor trailers, trucks, containers, and shed (updating and accounting for supplies in shared numbers spreadsheets electronically), logging and accounting for fuel deliveries and usage (in a shared numbers spreadsheet electronically), in charge of physical Samsara cameras, physical & connection of Blink Yard cameras, wi-fi, solar including batteries & generator, and working in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Our Yard person will work in our yard (located in Ft. Myers) with our personal equipment and assist on the jobsites as needed. Travel may be required for on-site, local job site deliveries, assisting our mechanic with basic mechanical repairs, running necessary work-related errands, and trips to HQ in South Naples.

As a qualified applicant, you should have experience operating forklifts and/or similar construction equipment. A willingness to learn and the desire to do a great job is very important. Must be self-motivated, take pride in his/her work, have a sense of urgency, be willing and able to pivot immediately as needed, and always put safety first.

The Yard person will be responsible for the completion of any necessary paperwork (physical and/or digital) that is required as well as communicating any discrepancies that need to be notified to management. This person will also be expected to follow all safety regulations set forth by the company. The Yard person will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment including all equipment, vehicles, containers, the shed, and the yard.

The Yard person will be responsible for keeping and turning in the required paperwork to management: Inventory needs, fuel slips, receipts, and any Safety Documentation. The Yard person will be working in varying weather conditions without AC in the yard, in dusty and noisy areas. Substantial walking, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting, and working in awkward or strained positions as well as being able to work outdoors in our open yard environment is a requirement for this position. This position includes needing to be aware at all times of hazards involved due to working in and around trucks and machinery. The Yard person will be asked to work to the needs of supporting our operations and loading teams.

SUMMARY:
Responsible for the organization and maintenance needs to keep a clean and efficiently maintained yard.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be willing and able to safely operate different versions of forklifts and Construction Forklifts, safely load equipment and materials onto a tractor-trailer (flatbeds up to 53'), and safely drive them between our yard and local job sites if needed
  • Be able to safely operate a truck-mounted forklift (Moffett / Manitou / Hyster) to lift or move heavy pallets of materials as needed
  • Be willing and able to perform yard activities as needed (moving material, loading, and unloading trucks, labeling and keeping an inventory of material, etc.) using a forklift
  • Be willing and able to be in charge of physical Samsara cameras, physical & connection of Blink Yard cameras, wi-fi, solar including batteries & generator, fuel logs, shed inventories, truck inventories, etc.
  • Be able to follow, adhere to, and maintain the strictest of safe work practices and procedures at all times for yourself and everyone else on the team
  • Understand and perform daily safety checks on vehicles and equipment and report any issues to management immediately
  • Demonstrate attention to detail with the ability to pivot quickly in a rapidly changing environment
  • Be able to follow directions the first time and possess common sense to solve problems or ask for help to resolve issues as they arise
  • Have a great personality and the ability to talk to and work with managers, crew, drivers, clients, etc. in a professional manner
  • Be able to work to deadlines and quotas while problem-solving as needed
  • Possess a strong mechanical aptitude, a high commitment to work (strong work ethic), and proven tenure in previous roles
  • Have reliable transportation to work and a strong commitment to punctuality every day, variable start times and end times
  • Be willing and able to work at the yard until the Operations Team returns and after they go home if starting later than the Operations Team, but plan on scheduled hours of 7am-6pm
  • Work well alone (motivated/self-starter) as well as within a team environment
  • Be willing to work long days, outside in all types of weather
  • Be very organized and willing to receive and maintain material at our yard
  • Be willing and able to fill out required paperwork (physical or electronic) as needed
  • Be willing to download all apps utilized by the company on your personal phone
  • Be willing to join our Find My and Life360 app groups while working (you see where we are, too!) on your personal iPhone phone
  • Be willing to download CompanyCam on your personal iPhone and take many photos of all deliveries and tile orders
  • Enjoy a Tobacco-Free Environment

To be considered, you MUST:

  • Be at least18 years of age
  • Be willing to get a Valid CDL Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Have the ability to successfully complete/pass Drug Screening
  • Have experience using a Moffett / Manitou forklift, skid steer, backhoe, (or other similar equipment) and be able to operate them safely and efficiently
  • Possess excellent verbal and texting skills
  • Possess a HIGH level of communication skills in English... BOTH Verbal and Written
