Job description
MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their SHEQ Team with an Environmental & Sustainability Assistant. Home working with some time in the head office, you will help to strengthen the current MWHT SHEQ team in the services provided and the solutions delivered. This role would suit someone who has an interest and desire to lean about environmental and sustainability issues and be a key player in shaping our business in this area.
To promote sustainability through assisting in the production of communications, training, documentation and support materials with potential for delivery of briefings and attendance at meetings to share progress and communicate sustainability.
You will report directly to the National Environmental & Sustainability Manager and the responsibilities will include:
- Managing time appropriately to allow hybrid working (mainly between office and home, with infrequent site visits)
- Providing support to the National Environmental and Sustainability Manager
- Collation of environmental data for carbon footprinting and calculating the quarterly organisational carbon footprint
- Assist in the calculation of MWHT’s additional Scope 3 carbon emissions including embodied carbon in products and services used
- Assist in the production and organisation of sustainability related training material for employees
- Identifying environmental benefits and carbon savings from design and construction projects
- Assist in the promotion / communication / workshops on sustainability internally and to our clients and the supply chain; including production of case studies and reports
- Analysing current and future sustainability trends or requirements relevant to the business and assist in identifying solutions to ensure continual improvement
- Collating and analysing of environmental and sustainability data, and assist in internal and external reporting
- Requesting and handling of relevant data (predominantly carbon related) from the supply chain
- Working alongside the MWHT STEM Ambassadors to promote environmental and sustainability education
- Represent and promote the SHEQ (Environmental) Department in meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums.
