SUMMARY

Provide support to data collection, analyses, briefing preparation, working sessions, meeting attendance and coordination. Provides specialized engineering technical support and design reviews excluding Title I/II services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Assists in development of briefing materials related to the Air Force environmental programs.
  • Provides support to the data collection, analyses, briefing preparation, working sessions, meeting attendance and coordination.
  • Provides analysis assistance of environmental and conservations regulatory issues, and legislative affairs which affect the programs.
  • Assists in the preparation of policy and strategic guidance to the evaluating and assessing installation, command, and headquarters environmental requirements.
  • Provides management support to the coordination of efforts with other contractors, Government agencies and international entities.
  • Coordinates studies and actions in support of environmental quality and other solutions for environmental requirements on military bases.
  • Supports the compliance and conservation program document development, data review, status reporting, meeting support, briefing preparation, strategic environmental plans review and input, coordination of Environmental Quality Program, and strategic policy and legislative actions.
  • Provides assistance on environmental quality strategic communications. This assistance includes but is not limited to assistance in the development of strategic environmental campaign plans and coordination and development of strategic policy, and social media.
  • Assists on actions including but not limited to review of pending legislation and impacts to the review of funding appropriated to activities, legislative inquiries/actions effecting and subsequent responses.
  • Helps in coordinating office visits, preparation for presentations pertaining to the program, and assistance in providing responses to state agencies in support of all missions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory or management authority.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BS or BA in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a closely related field and 1 year of experience in environmental fields required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and other database management experience.
  • Excellent critical thinking and communication skills both oral and written.
  • The ability to pass a drug screen and federal background check (NACI) is required.
  • Cherokee Federal has suspended it’s COVID mandate. However it’s important to note that Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently not subject to enforcement by the Federal government. Therefore, Cherokee Federal has suspended application of the mandate and continues to monitor the government’s guidance on administration of any vaccine requirement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work will be performed primarily in a climate-controlled office environment.
