Job Summary:
Collect environmental field data and compile existing data in biological and physical science disciplines. Analyze collected data and prepare reports synthesizing and providing solutions to complex issues using qualitative and quantitative methods. Perform difficult professional work involved with planning, executing and coordinating activities relative to environmental programs. Evaluate environmental issues as they relate to Glenn O. Hawbaker Inc. to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations. This salaried, exempt position will work with direct and indirect supervision.

Essential Functions:
  • Monitor proposed Environmental Legislation to ensure timely compliance with new regulations.
  • Conduct problem analysis, testing and propose solutions regarding environmental impact of existing and proposed operations and facilities.
  • Compile and analyze data on site conditions, soil and vegetation, drainage, pollution problems, methods of control and testing.
  • Review compliance schedules and inspection reports to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct Environmental Inspections at construction, Oil and Gas, and mining sites as needed.
  • Coordinates environmental projects and prepare progress and feasibility reports documents to ensure coordination of efforts and timely submission of information.
  • May assist in developing policies affecting facility construction and operations.
  • Investigating complaints concerning exposure to hazardous materials or air pollutants.
  • Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
  • Read and interpret maps and drawings.
  • Assist in the coordination and review of Environmental applications.
  • Act as a liaison for GOH to the regulatory agencies we deal with.
  • Frequently work more than 40 hours per week and non-traditional hours including night shift, Saturdays and occasionally Sundays.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
  • Drive and travel to various construction site locations.
Knowledge of:
  • Have a basic knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations and policies.
  • Working knowledge of hazardous materials, hazardous wastes, and other hazardous pollutants.
  • Various upland and wetland plant specieis
  • Water quality and basic chemistry
Ability to:
  • Learn and follow GOH company policies and procedures.
  • Organize, coordinate, and review progress and compliance of environmental projects
  • Work as contributing member of a team, work productively and cooperatively with other teams and external customers, and convey a positive image of the company and its services.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and offer solutions.
Qualifications:
  • A valid driver's license for the state in which you reside with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards for drivers.
  • Must have strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience in coordinating of environmental projects and activities and knowledge of environmental regulations, testing and problem resolution with construction projects.
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a scientific or engineering discipline including biology, geology, and hydrology required or environmental science required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years in environmental compliance or regulatory work experience is preferred.
Required Training:
  • MSHA
  • OSHA 10 hour
  • Annual Safety Training
