THE POSITION

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking candidates with experience and/or education in environmental education, education, natural sciences, social sciences, or parks and recreation for an Environmental Education Specialist position If you enjoy sharing your knowledge, connecting with people and groups, and working in the environmental field, then State Parks may have the job for you.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position involves professional work involving the implementation of environmental
education, environmental interpretation, recreation, information services and public
relations at Vosburg Neck State Park. You will perform a variety of assignments in the development, coordination and implementation of the environmental education, interpretive, and public relations services at Vosburg Neck State Park.

• Full-time employment.
• Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with 30-minute lunch.
• This position will work five of seven days per week for 37.50 hours. Weekend and evening shifts will be required.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

• A bachelor's degree in environmental education, education, the natural sciences, social sciences, or parks and recreation; or
  

• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Conditions of Employment:

• Willingness to work weekends and evenings. Willingness to wear a prescribed uniform.

• In according with Act 153 of 2014, this position is required to complete a Child Abuse, Criminal and Federal Criminal history checks around the time of hire and thereafter every 5 years.
