The Boeing Company’s Space, Intelligence and Weapons Systems Division is currently seeking an Environment, Health & Safety Manager to join the team at Huntsville, AL.

Huntsville is a historical city known for development in space flight and often referred to as Rocket City. Redstone Arsenal is located in Huntsville and will house the newly formed United States Space Force. Additionally, Huntsville was recently selected as a Best Place to live in America.

This position will provide support for Strategic Deterrence Systems, Weapons, Ground Based Midcourse Defense and National Team Programs, all critical to our Nation’s defense.

This position will require frequent collaborate with Boeing executives, weapons officials, and local regulators. The selected candidate will direct a team that has grown to 14 individuals across 7 locations such as: Ogden, UT; Little Mountain, UT; Heath, OH; Vandenberg Space Force Base; Fort Greely, AK; Albuquerque, NM; and Huntsville, AL.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads and integrates employee activities across more than one environmental, occupational, health and safety discipline

  • Activities handled include the planning and implementation of environmental, occupational, health and safety programs/processes, environmental property assessment and remediation, chemical analysis, evaluation of chemical processing activities and/or related support functions

  • Develops and drives project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements

  • Develops and handles relationships and partnerships with customers, collaborators, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Leads, develops and motivates employees

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Huntsville, AL.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 5+ years of experience in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS)

  • 5+ years of experience performing Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Management duties in an industrial environment

  • 5+ years of experience in leading informal and/or formal teams

  • 5+ years of experience in functioning in a cross-functional environment

  • Willing to travel 20% of the time or more as needed

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a safety, environmental or other technical field (Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, Public Health, etc.)

  • 3+ years of experience with government contract in safety requirements within the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) function

  • Experience developing employees and building organizational talent

  • Associate Safety Professional or Certified Safety Professional certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $107,100 - $144,900
