Aviation Entry Level Technician - Willing to train.
Purpose:
Performs a variety of technical functions related to rework and repair of air cargo containment systems and other specialty products according to the requirements of the customer and FAA by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:
- Serviceability: Assess ULDs to accurately determine if they are serviceable or not.
- Repairs: Supervise rework operations per established workmanship quality standards, working from repair manuals, blueprints, CMMs or other authorized engineering documentation.
- Measuring: Measure parts to determine specified tolerance, using calipers, micrometers, or other measuring tools. Positions and aligns parts; bolts, screws, and rivets parts together.
- Disassembly: Supervise techs during disassembly and replacements of parts as required, using a variety of hand tools, portable powered equipment or light industrial machinery.
- Assembly: Test functional performance of assembly. Supervise the cleaning and lubrication of parts and assemblies using a variety of solvents, oils, and lubricants.
- Oversee traceability: Ensure parts are properly marked/identified for recordkeeping and traceability purposes. Complete and maintain production and quality records associated with units.
- Pallet Repair: Supervise the assessment and repair of aluminum pallets.
- Training: Complete and over see required training on an annual basis. Train new hires on the repair process and job functions associated with ULD Technician responsibilities and ensure continuing training of current staff.
- Other: May be asked to complete and/or assist with other job duties as needed.

- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Hand-to-eye dexterity.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull multiple times per day.
- Knowledge of theoretical and practical hand and air tool usage.
- General mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals).
- General mechanics and sheet metal knowledge/experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, decipher blueprints, follow CMMs and work in a time-sensitive environment; meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work in a temperate environment.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
