Organic Turf Care Specialist

Locations: Weston, MA; Chatham, MA; Edgartown, MA

Pure Solutions has been providing clients with organic alternatives to pest control across Eastern Massachusetts since 2005. We are currently seeking Turf Care Technicians for our Organic Turf Care division. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a passion for lawn/turf care and has worked in the green industry. Our Organic Turf Care division focuses on applying all types of organic products that help improve the health and soil structure of our clients’ lawns. We are looking for someone who has experience in lawn care, horticulture, and/or landscaping.

Pure Solutions has locations in Weston Ma, Chatham Ma, and Martha’s Vineyard. We service all of Eastern Massachusetts, parts of Rhode Island, and Cape Cod. Our program includes: soil testing, fertilizer applications, granular and liquid soil amendments, core aeration, mechanical seeding, compost top-dressing, organic herbicides, and maintenance recommendations. We DO NOT MOW, or perform weekly maintenance to properties. Applicants will be responsible for servicing clients’ lawns and documenting the work completed. Equipment involved will be: Ride-on seeder/spreaders, tank sprayers, core aerators, and walk-behind compost spreaders. This is a hands on, manual labor job, BUT NOT AS INTENSIVE AS YOUR TRADITIONAL LANDSCAPING JOB. We are looking for a hard working person, who has a track record of being a team player.

You will learn a lot about organic lawn care and client management. The optimal applicant should have the ability to communicate well with clients and team members. Establishing relationships with clients and getting to know their property is key to growth in this company. You will learn problem solving techniques and what to look for during different times of the season.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Apply organic products to residential and commercial properties according to schedule, safety procedures, and instructions.
• Drive company vehicles to multiple locations throughout the day under limited supervision.
• Understand and discuss the scope of services provided to assist in sales to current customers and neighbors.
• Complete production reports, new sales forms, customer invoice forms, daily vehicle inspection reports, and cancel/skip notices as required daily.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment through cleanliness, safety, and general maintenance.
• Identify upsell opportunities and present additional services to existing customers based on customer needs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Professionalism and commitment to customer service.
• Good physical condition.
• A Background in lawn, landscaping, or horticulture work
• Self-motivated and driven for excellence.
• High School diploma, GED, or six months to one-year related experience.
• Pesticide Applicator License or Turf Applicators License preferred
• An ability to follow oral and written directions and to problem solve
• Experience plowing snow
• Experience driving with and backing up trailers

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Must have transportation to Weston and be punctual.
• References (at least 3), required at time of interview.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions
• Excellent communication skills
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Must be able to pass a DOT Health Exam

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Pure Solutions provides a friendly and professional work environment. Our Turf Care Field Specialists may be required to work in various weather conditions across all parts of Eastern Massachusetts, parts of Rhode Island, and Cape Cod. We are very committed to keeping workdays as reasonable as possible throughout the season but certain periods may require longer hours, typically the spring and fall. We do provide overtime pay of time and a half to accommodate our specialists for working more than 40 hours in a week-long time span. Field Specialists will also have a home base at the Pure Solutions office in Weston, MA.

Full-Time Employment

Salary: Starting at $18-$24 per hour and increasing with experience and licensing

$1,750 Sign-On Bonus with Active Pesticide Applicator License**

*Eligibility for 401k enrollment after 1-year of employment

**Sign-On Bonus will be paid out after 90-days of employment.
