job summary:
Seeking a candidate comfortable with team and individual work for a full-service consulting engineering firm. The Entry Level Field Engineer role works on a variety of projects in the geotechnical field. This role is based in Shelbyville, KY with opportunity for travel for an enthusiastic and talented individual looking to join a team of outstanding professionals.

responsibilities:
Perform field geotechnical explorations and investigations.

Train and supervise lab technicians,maintenance of quality reviews and certifications, management of equipment inventory and calibration, client marketing and proposal preparation.

Work independently on broad projects under the direction of a Senior Engineer/Project Manager with overall supervision of a Department Manager. - Provide direction to associates on a project to project basis.

Prepare laboratory testing assignments and review documents and test results for content and accuracy. - Prepare geotechnical engineering reports.

Interact with clients on technical aspects of the projects.

Review soil laboratory test results and related documents prepared by administrative personnel.

Assist in planning and execution of subsurface investigation programs, including understanding project design plans, locating test borings at project sites, coordinate underground utility clearance.

Develop design and analysis of earth embankments, earth retaining structures and anchoring systems.

The essential functions of this role include:
  • working in a non-temperature controlled environment
  • manual lifting up to 50lbs
  • standing for 7 hours at one time

qualifications:
  • Experience level: Entry Level
  • Minimum 1 year of experience
  • Education: Bachelors (required)
