The Dartmouth Institute’s degree programs are where future public health leaders learn to: use data analysis to impact policy, learn new quality improvement methods that will enable them to introduce meaningful change into an organization or system or translate research findings into action to advance population health.

The Dartmouth Institute prepares students to question current assumptions, develop creative and innovative solutions to our problems, and use their knowledge and skills to implement the changes in policy and practice that will create a transformed health system, improving both health and health care for all.

For over 30 years, Dartmouth has been a pioneer in health services research. Our research has increased and expanded the understanding of geographic variations in healthcare delivery, the adaption and integration of payment reform models, and the factors influencing physician decision making and patient-clinician communication.
