Do you have experience in coordinating care or helping people cope with life? Then join our Behavioral Health Services program! EBF provides the highest level of support to members and families through life transitions, behavioral concerns, and/or behavioral health and substance abuse challenges.

The Employment Specialist carries out the services of the EBF Supported Employment program by assisting clients to obtain and maintain employment that is consistent with their vocational goals. Engages clients and establishes trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in community job settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists clients in obtaining information about their benefits (e.g., SSI, Medicaid, etc.) and how they will be affected by employment in order for clients to make good decisions about employment opportunities. Refers clients to benefits counseling, as needed.
  • Provides individualized follow-along supports to assist clients in maintaining employment.
  • Participates in face-to-face meetings with vocational rehabilitation counselors at least once a month to coordinate services for clients.
  • Provides outreach services as necessary to clients when they appear to disengage from the service. Uses a variety of methods to provide outreach.
  • Provides individualized follow-along supports to assist clients in maintaining employment.
  • Writes job support plans with clients and incorporating input from the mental health team.
  • Adjusts plan according to clients’ needs and preferences.
  • Conducts employer contacts to learn about the needs of the business, describe supports offered by the program and describe client strengths that are relevant to the position.
  • Ability to work as an effective team player is essential.
Requirements:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • Two to three years experience working with people with severe mental illness, experience providing employment services, and knowledge of the work world are preferred.

Regulatory:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card.
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Arizona Driver’s License, good driving record, and be at least 21 years of age as required by corporate fleet policy.

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as face mask, gown, goggles, and gloves, for any amount of time necessary to provide a physical barrier to protect the employee and others.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position
  • Must be able to operate a computer, phone and other office equipment
  • Must be able to stoop, squat, reach, stretch, ascend and descend stairs
  • May work in an office setting
  • This position is classified as Hybrid. 50% or more of this position’s required activities include interaction with community members, in-person meetings, and face-to-face contact with colleagues and supervisors. Outside of these activities, hybrid workers may complete other required tasks (i.e. progress notes, administrative work, etc.) at home or in the office.

  • Must be able to work in an extremely stressful environment where there are considerable mental and emotional demands. Must be able to manage high volumes and unpredictability of work
  • Must be able to remain flexible and reprioritize according to the changing demands of the day
  • Must be able to manage stress in a fast-paced, unpredictable, intense setting
  • Must be able to adapt to diverse cultural environments and communicate in a culturally inclusive manner
  • Must be able to represent EBF in a professional manner in all situations
