Elementary Teacher

Location: Lakeshore Public Schools, Stevensville, MI 49127

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with K-5 Endorsement
• Highly Qualified by ESSA Standards
• Prior elementary teaching/student teaching experience
• Knowledge of theory, research, and best practices in elementary education
• Experience with differentiated instruction strategies to benefit all learners and meet the needs of individual students
• Experience with common core
• Establish a positive learning environment with effective and appropriate routines and procedures
• Collaborate with a team of positive, dedicated & high-performing educators
• Use technology to enhance lessons and stay current with changing trends
• Must demonstrate the ability to connect with all students and actively engage them in learning
• Strong background in cooperative learning strategies and hands-on investigations
• Communicates well with a variety of audiences both verbally and in writing
• Enthusiastic, energetic & highly organized

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience and/or understanding of Professional Learning Communities (PLC) training
• Fountas and Pinnell Training (use of running records)
• Readers and Writers Workshop
