POSITION SUMMARY:
Works with the Principal in carrying out the school’s guidance and counseling program, which is based on the American School Counseling Association model. As a professional educator with a mental health perspective, the counselor understands and responds to the needs of a diverse student population. The counselor provides proactive leadership to engage all stakeholders in the delivery of programs and services to support the students’ social emotional development, academic achievement and career preparation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification and endorsement in Counseling.
- Ability to perform essential functions with the physical, mental and emotional requirements, with or without accommodations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in performing assigned tasks.
- Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents and staff.
- Such alternatives to the qualifications as the Board and Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Card.
