Job Summary:Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an onsite position in our Engineering Test Laboratory (Lab) in La Crosse, Wisconsin as an Electronics Technician II. This position supports testing of new product development, sustainability, quality improvement projects, and agency compliance. This role is responsible for tests in the Lab that produce qualifying performance & safety data on Trane Commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning products and components. The job requires problem solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration with other lab and engineering team members to ensure timely completion of projects. This position is salaried non-exempt.

Responsibilities:
  • Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair of Trane commercial HVAC technologies, controls, and electronics components
  • Support product development activities by designing and fabricating commercial HVAC system simulators with modest guidance from senior laboratory staff
  • Support end-to-end concept and validation electronics testing with instrumentation and data acquisition setup with guidance from Test Engineer or Senior Technician for Trane commercial HVAC products
  • Drive for continuous improvement in job performance and laboratory procedures

Qualifications:
  • Currently and actively enrolled in an Associate Degree program in Electromechanical or Electronics, or 2-year equivalent degree program in Electromechanical or Electronics at an accredited school
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
  • Strong grasp of electronics principles and troubleshooting is preferred
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD is preferred
  • 3+ years work experience in related field
Key Competencies:
  • A working knowledge of measurement and control equipment (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, etc.)
  • Demonstrates basic to advanced knowledge on measuring/inspection instruments and or mechanical and electrical components and their principles, properties, and theories
  • Proficient in understanding and creation of schematics, engineering drawings, technical reports, safety rules, operation, and maintenance instructions
  • Ability to understand and follow current work instructions
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of complex variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to listen and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees in the organization
  • Ability to multitask while working efficiently in a fast-paced team environment

The base salary for this position is 37,000 to 70,000.
