This notice is to assist managers in identifying candidates interested in the Electronics Engineer position (1 vacancy) located at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

-This is a permanent full time position at the full performance level.

RESPONSIBILITIES (include but not limited to):

1. Incumbent will be responsible for engineering development and verification of calibration procedures/techniques used to verify a wide variety of complex standards and test equipment.

2. Incumbent will maintain contracts at the other calibration laboratories and provide technical oversight to MARCC shops for sending MARCC standards and test equipment to those laboratories for calibration.

3. Incumbent will develop and investigate improvements in measurement techniques and uncertainty reduction efforts through research, engineering analysis of measurement results and interchange of measurement ideas with other reference standards labs and NIST.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

-Experience with a wide range of advanced principles and practices and theories of electrical/electronic engineering is paramount in order to investigate and provide consultative services on the entire range of metrology activities within the assigned measurement areas.

-Functional areas include but are not limited to electro-optics, microwave, AC/DC voltage and current, resistance, frequency and time, and impedance measurements.

-Experience with the Navy calibration program and training in the science of metrology.

-Experience training personnel, making oral presentations, writing reports, interpreting plans, developing calibration specifications and producing new calibration techniques.

1 year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement

Pay: $52,106.00 - $64,130.00 per year
