Green River Correctional Complex is seeking skilled applicants for Electrician Licensed Supervisor on site at the institution. This position will be in charge of supervising electricians trainees (inmates) performing electrical work as well as performing electrical work of all types.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Green River Correctional Complex is seeking skilled applicants for Electrician Licensed Supervisor on site at the institution. This position will be in charge of supervising electricians trainees (inmates) performing electrical work as well as performing electrical work of all types.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Supervise electrician staff and inmates involved in the installation and repair of electrical systems, appliances, and motors.
- Inspects electrical wiring and fixtures for defects according to electrical code.
- Checks for violations of current electrical code and reports to proper authorities.
- Determines proper material and equipment for use by subordinates.
- Diagnoses problems with electrical systems.
- Installs and repairs electrical systems, appliances, and motors.
- Keeps records of electrical projects and work time records.
- Inspects work of staff.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be licensed as a Master Electrician by the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction. https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/chapter.aspx?id=38346 Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
