Compensation:
  • This is an hourly position with a starting pay of $34.06 per hour (plus shift differential). Employed Journeyman can earn up to $38.14/hour upon an extra year course for Electrical & Instrumentation.
  • Our average work week is 45 hours, and at $34.06 per hour, this equates to around $77,656 annually! This earning potential is not guaranteed and is provided for reference only. Additionally, overtime is not guaranteed and is also only awarded on a voluntary basis
  • Double time is awarded for any hours worked during each Sunday of the year
Shift:
  • Ability to work 12-hour swing shift that includes weekends
    • Swing shift: 6am to 6pm and 6pm to 6am on a 2-week rotation
  • Shift rotation allows you to work half the year and be home half the year!
Responsibilities include:
  • Work safely and actively participate in a culture of safety minded team members
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on production and facilities related equipment to ensure proper and safe operation of all systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair both low voltage and high voltage circuits in a timely and orderly manner
  • Perform basic and advanced diagnosis to determine root cause failure with the aid of blueprints and schematics, also perform replacement of motors, meters, switches, photo-eyes and other electrical components.
  • Effectively analyze PLC’s, HMI’s, and VFD’s for improper operation and perform corrective measures
  • Effectively utilize tools such as PC’s, multimeters, thermography, vibration analysis, and oscilloscopes to troubleshoot electrical equipment.
  • Effectively utilize a computerized maintenance management system to retrieve assigned work and document maintenance activities such as work completed, parts request, inventory usage, etc.
  • Install new electrical control systems and maintain existing control systems as directed
  • Advanced team members will design, layout, program, install new equipment
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and written with managers, supervisors, schedulers, as well as maintenance and operations team members
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and abilities include:
  • Possess a 4-year apprenticeship industrial Journeyman's card or equivalent Associate Degree in Electronics, Electro-mechanical, Automation, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience as an Industrial Electrician or Technician in a related field
  • Experience in PLC and HMI programming in closed loop control systems
  • Advanced VS drive systems experience with web handling equipment
  • Ability to work in a USW Union environment
  • Personal computer skills in Microsoft products, networking, and computer maintenance
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated continuing self-development
  • Strong leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team to reach a common goal
As a team member, you will work as part of the Maintenance Department team of 44 employees in our Appleton Plant.
A background check, pre-employment physical with a drug and alcohol screen is required.
