Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Electrical Engineer - Data Displays and Controls/Principal Electrical Engineer – Data Displays and Controls to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL.


**This position may be filled by either an Electrical Engineer -
Data Displays and Controls level or a Principal Electrical Engineer – Data Displays and Controls level based on the qualifications listed.

Essential Functions:

  • The Engineer/Principal Engineer Electronics is expected to be a highly motivated self-starter with an ability to operate/communicate effectively with leadership, customer, suppliers, engineers, and technicians.
  • Data Display and Controls (DDC) engineer is expected to write/draft, interpret, allocate, tailor, and flow down requirements to all design levels.
  • The DDC engineer is expected to author design guidelines, complete technical analyses and write reports.
  • The DDC engineer is expected to present material during design reviews to internal and external customers.


Basic Qualifications:

For – Electrical Engineer - Data Displays and Controls (T02):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience OR Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university for T02 level.

  • Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access

Basic Qualifications:

For – Principal Electrical Engineer – Data Displays and Controls (T03):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience OR Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years of experience OR 0 years’ experience with PhD for T03 level.

  • Must have an Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of Military Cockpits
  • General familiarity with overall integration of all aircraft systems.
  • Experience with defense and aerospace industry practices, and programmatic skills supporting BOE, RFP, ROM, CAM, WBS, Risk assessments and Airworthiness is a plus for candidates.
  • Must have experience working with Mission System Subsystems or Military Avionics Systems.
  • Must be able to brief/support customer/subcontractor meetings as required.


Salary Range: $73,400 USD - $110,000 USD
Salary Range 2: $87,600 USD - $131,400 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
