Job Title: Safety Coordinator

Summary
Inopex Management Services, Inc. provides management services to small industrial businesses (Clients) located in California, Texas, and Iowa. These services include Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), Accounting, HR, and IT.

This position is responsible for coordinating our organization’s safety programs at two of our locations located in Selma, Texas. This will be done by promoting a safe and healthy work environment while driving continuous improvement of our EHS systems that result in the reduction of accidents and ensure regulatory compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Inopex has identified and contracted with environmental and safety experts (experts) to provide safety, training, and environmental services necessary to meet regulatory requirements.

Splitting time between our production location in Selma and our office in San Antonio, this position will be our designated contact for our Expert vendor. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Ensure essential safety, training and compliance services are completed in a timely manner for companies located in Selma, TX
  • Identify safety and health hazards by conducting daily, weekly and monthly audits with associated checklists.
  • Maintaining accurate records of audits and any necessary corrective actions
  • Assist in maintaining each location’s SDS system.
  • Assist with the timely submission of permits, license renewals and government agency documents
  • Assist with training using a combination of online training and in-person training.
  • Review of monthly EHS reports submitted by all companies
  • Assist with the creation of a EHS tickler system to track compliance requirements.
  • Assist in leading monthly safety meetings, including brief tailgate meetings.
  • Maintain working knowledge of new developments in the industry and government regulations.
  • Act as a liaison between management and external safety and regulatory agencies, such as fire, insurance, and compliance.
  • Provide hands-on assistance to management teams in implementing safety procedures and requirements.

Location

The Safety Coordinator will spend three to four days a week at our locations in Selma, Texas. One to two days a week will be spent at the Inopex office in San Antonio. Employee will be provided a company laptop and paid a monthly cell phone reimbursement. In addition, the company will pay for hotels, rental cars, and meals when the employee is traveling on business. The employee is expected to seek out reasonable accommodations

Travel

There will be some travel involved in this position, primarily to training events and on occasion other locations.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree from two-year college or university; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of all Federal, State, Local regulations, and industry requirements.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Strong communications skills with the ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedures, and safety programs. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and regulators. Prior experience with training small groups.

Organizational Skills

This job demands strong organizational skills in order to balance the needs of our clients.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams). Email correspondence is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

OSHA 30-Hour Certification should be obtained during the employee’s first year.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
