The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in electronics design or component engineering.
  • Knowledge of component selection, screening, qualification, and derating for use in automotive applications.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Our preferred requirements:

  • Master or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Reliability Engineering
  • Understanding of component lifecycles and obsolescence mitigation.
  • Knowledge of reliability warranty analysis and reliability prediction methods.
  • Familiarity with requirements for Conflict Materials, RoHS, REACH and SCIP Database.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturer process for key electronic components.
  • Knowledge of industry processes applicable to safety critical automotive systems (ISO 26262), DFMEAs, FMEDAs, PPAP.
  • Knowledge of DFMEA/DFSS and accelerated life test
  • Knowledge of G8D for Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, self-motivated, eager to take ownership and deliver results with minimal direction.

What you will be able to do:

The eDrive Controller Electronics Engineer would be responsible for component engineering and reliability tasks for eDrive inverter controllers. These tasks include collaboration with electronics design engineering, quality, supply chain, product compliance engineering, manufacturers, and component brokers to sustain and support continued production of controller circuit board designs. Develop and maintain components and controller module reliability verification test plan and database.

You will:

  • Develop components environmental / characteristic application requirements.
  • Manage component qualification and selection activities.
  • Interface with multiple internal stakeholders and external suppliers/manufacturers to develop component risk and verification delineation.
  • Facilitate component selection and libraries application
  • Develop reliability validation plans for components and inverter controller.
  • Conduct failure analysis to understand root causes and drive resolutions.
  • Provide reliability design guidelines and apply reliability lessons learned to enable continuous quality improvement.
