Job Description


AECOM
is seeking an Ecologist in the Conshohocken, PA office.

This position is expected to begin June, 2023.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
  • Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories.
  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, and compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Participates in field events for collection of biological/environmental (fish, benthic invertebrates, surface water, sediment, soil, and porewater) samples.

Qualifications


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Biology, or related field (e.g., ecology, fisheries, environmental science).
  • The position requires field work in outdoor environments with rugged terrain and inclement weather conditions.
  • Frequently lifting, carrying, and loading equipment such as sample coolers, without assistance up to 25lbs and with assistance up to 50lbs.
  • Experience operating, maintaining, and trailering boats (14’ – 20’).
  • Valid State Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER training certificate.
  • 0+ years of experience with ecological investigations.
  • Working knowledge of statistical software (e.g., R, ProUCL, etc.)
  • Fisheries experience.
  • Knowledge of environmental data collection, investigation, and data entry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Trimble GPS units.
  • Detail-oriented, thorough, and can effectively manage time.
  • A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently with limited supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Travel ability for up to a week at a time.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems.
