The Harry & Rose Samson Family JCC invites passionate and caring educators of all backgrounds to join our family of staff as full-time Early Childhood Teachers at our Gan Ami Early Childhood Education campus in Mequon. We have three Infant/Toddler Classroom Teacher opportunities available.

Position Summary

As a member of our faculty, you will be responsible for the creation of a positive, warm, individualized, nurturing environment for children, which encourages inquiry and open-ended thought. Teachers in our program ensure that children are consistently treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Teachers also promote, administer, and improve the JCC’s mission statement and goals in functions including program development, compliance with licensing standards, as well as supervision and implementation of the program in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the JCC.

• Genuine love and respect for children and families
• Willingness to be flexible and be a part of a learning community
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certifications (free training available onsite for hired staff)

• 1-2 years of experience in an Early Childhood Education (ECE) center or similar setting such as nanny experience, camp counselor experience, babysitting
• Strong interpersonal skills within a classroom or school environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of different approaches in ECE and child development

Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrated skills in effective interpersonal skills necessary to work with young children, parents/guardians, and other faculty.
• Demonstrated skills in planning, scheduling, record keeping, classroom environmental design and arrangement, classroom management, physical safety of children, and communication with parents and colleagues.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, work well in group problem solving situations and use reason when dealing with emotional topics.
• Ability to work as part of a team with other faculty, staff members and the parents/guardians of children in our care; promote high standards of teaching and a favorable learning environment for young children.
• Ability to resolve conflict effectively and demonstrate maturity as well as the ability to get along with a variety of people.
• Ability to respond effectively to constructive criticism and give constructive feedback to team educators, and ensure that an environment which fosters maximum physical, social, cognitive and emotional development of children is developed and maintained.

Monday through Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM daily

Gan Ami Early Childhood Education serves families with children ages 6 weeks through K4 at two unique sites – Whitefish Bay & Mequon. Gan Ami is rated by the State of Wisconsin as a Youngstar 5-star provider and has earned national accreditation from the Association for Early Learning Leaders’ National Accreditation Commission (NAC).
