CNA Trainee

STARTING RATE: $15.00

SHIFT: Full-Time, Evenings

Absolut Care of Westfield, Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center, and Erie 2 BOCES are offing a PAID CNA TRAINING PROGRAM starting mid-January.

Once you have shown that you can perform the job duties successfully, you will be transitioned to our CNA Training Program as soon as the next class becomes available.

The program is full-time, 5 pm- 9 pm, for four weeks. Theory, classroom, and clinical will be held at Erie 2 BOCES (Dunkirk, NY) with a clinical rotation at Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center.

You will receive a paycheck while you train! You will work at the facility as a Helping Hand and get paid while you train. When your training is complete and you have passed the NY State certification exam, you will begin working as a CNA at either Absolut Care of Westfield or Chautauqua Nursing and Rehab Center

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Certified Nursing Assistant Trainee performs various basic duties necessary to the operation of the nursing department in support of nurses and nursing assistants.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist residents with day-to-day tasks
• Work alongside our nurse educator and our nursing staff
• Assisting patients with mobility needs, transferring them from wheelchair to bed
• Physical endurance for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
• Preparing each resident’s room with necessary items like blankets, pillows, medical equipment, and bathroom needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

• This is an entry-level opportunity. No prior experience is required due to the training program we would provide
• Must be willing to learn and apply new skills
• Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
• Strong customer service skills and compassion
• Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness
• Qualities of responsibility, diplomacy, and ability to work well with fellow staff members
