The Sr. Technical Advisor will be placed in a position of responsibility to help ensure the overall safety, integrity, reliability, and efficiency of Region Operations. An understand the general needs of pipeline transmission business is a requirement for success.

What You Will Do
-
Provide technical assistance to field personnel including identifying gaps in processes or procedures.

Provide technical expertise to Area employees through training, written and verbal communication to operate, install, test, and assess company facilities in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.

Lead problem solving of complex technical issues for multiple products and platforms.

Provide leadership and direction to EC Techs as required to resolve maintenance issues and as an advisor on Capital Projects.

Lead efforts for cost estimating, budgeting, and obtaining clear scope definitions to obtain accurate cost estimates and project definitions.

Understand and make decisions around the implementation of processes, projects, or procedures that have direct impacts to the overall system and the area operations personnel.

Understand and apply Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safe and reliable operation within the Region.

Support the development and execution of project scopes associated with the facilities and compression equipment.

Support the investigation of failures and reliability issues and develop solutions.

Represent Operations in supporting project teams and various partners within the Company.

Support the development of O&M and Capital budgets to support ongoing operations.

Support the incorporation of O&M costs into project development scopes of work.

Provide support in emergency response situations and efforts.
Who You Are
Required:
-
Ten (10) years experience in electrical/controls and operations
Preferred:
-
Understanding of Natural Gas operations
-
Proficiencies: computer, communication, purchasing, etc.
-
Good technical background. Experience in Electrical Controls, Reliability, and Operations.

Interpersonal skills are a necessity. Engineer needs to be capable of leading the oversight of multiple projects
-
High quality verbal communication and writing skills
-
Experience leading in a team environment
-
Time in the field may include exposure to extreme hot or cold weather environments that are noisy and dirty at ongoing construction sites
-
Knowledge of CFR 192 and other relevant codes a plus
Working Conditions:
This role requires some traveling. Valid License and responsible driving record is required

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 40 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements (Both field & office) include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
