Overview:
Perform tasks necessary to moving goods through the Dye House. This includes selection of goods to be dyed, loading and unloading dye machines and dryers. Check status of dye machines on request from the Machine Controller, making necessary chemical/dye additions to the dye bath and pushing trucks within the area. This includes sample work from machine for color analysis vs. standard with MacBeth light and ACS computer. Apply QPI principles and techniques effectively.
Responsibilities:
  • Select greige stock to be dyed:
    • Locate style/size specified for a dye load. Check to insure all bags are of same style/size.
    • Load bags of goods into dye truck until correct number for a dye load is obtained.
    • Push full dye trucks to the dye house.
    • Include quality control sample goods in dye loads when dye tests are made.
  • Operate dye machines:
    • Get truck of greige goods from storage, push to dye machine.
    • Load and unload dye machines.
    • Take samples from machine as per standard procedure.
    • Weigh dyes and chemicals and take to machine.
    • Add chemicals/dye to dye machine as required using prescribed methods and safety equipment.
    • When shade passes color test, complete dye cycle with proper amount of finish.
    • When shade is not approved, make additional "adds" with dyes/chemicals as necessary.
    • Remove dyed goods from dye machines, put in dye truck and move to dryer area.
  • Operate dryer:
    • Load dryer by fluffing bags and place in dryer to seal off all air flow around bags.
    • Start dryers.
    • Remove bags from dryers into dye buggies and push buggy to proper staging area.
  • Perform other related duties as directed such as:
    • Keep area clean by washing floors and machines with water.
    • Wipe down machines and keep clean.
    • Transport barrels of dyes and chemicals to dye room from storage area. Barrels weigh up to 500 lbs.
    • Squeege floors dry.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
Must be able to pass Background Screening and Drug Test.
