The Central Falls School District seeks to hire a Spanish-English bilingual and biliterate dual language teacher to join our dual language team. This position teaches classes at Calcutt Middle School (home of Raices Upper grades) and your course load will include grades 7/8 classes for Calcutt and Raices. Candidates must possess a valid teacher certification and be willing to engage in credential reviews and follow strict Rhode Island (to include foreign credentials) reciprocity requirements should it apply.Please note that this position is anticipated to begin after July 1, 2022 in anticipation of the 22/23 school year, but the district reserves the right to identify a date prior to July 1st should it be needed and work in alignment with the applicants schedule and the CFTU collective bargaining agreement. Should an appropriately qualified candidate be selected prior to July 1, 2022, and be willing to start earlier, the District will create a separate job posting for the time remaining within the 21/22 SY with a specific focus on instructional support to MLL and Newcomer students, curriculum development, and other essential tasks and responsibilities aligned with the Dual Language program expansion.Requirements: Valid RI Certificate in Secondary (Gr. 7-12) Math Valid RI Certificate in Secondary Grades (Gr. 7-12) Bilingual and Dual Language EducationSpanish-English bilingual and biliterate required Evidence of success teaching multilingual learners at secondary levels Other Requirements: Candidate must be willing to participate in ongoing professional learning to support the 50/50 dual language program philosophy and instructional approaches, and to increase knowledge and skills with delivering district and school curriculum.

Educator with Dual Language Certificate demonstrates English and Spanish proficiency AND has completed the following course work: first and second language acquisition; English linguistics; and curriculum, assessment, and methods for English Learners (RIDE regulations).
