Position Type: Full-time/Days 7a-7p/ Overnights 7p-7a
Summary:
The Direct Support Professional is responsible for providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This includes assisting with daily living skills, promoting independence, and facilitating participation in community activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Encourage and support the development of independent living skills
- Facilitate community involvement and participation in leisure and recreational activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and record-keeping
- Communicate effectively with individuals served, families, and team members
- Administer medications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred, but not necessary
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
