DSHS DVR Administrative Regulations Analyst 2

Do you have a passion for public service? Are you a critical thinker that who enjoys technical writing and policy research? If so, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) is actively looking for a Policy and Procedure Specialist to join our dedicated team. You will gain a deep knowledge of DVR's program procedures and practices, and will be able to translate complex concepts and rules into clear and helpful guidance for our staff.

In this role you will provide technical support to the Policy and Strategies Manager in the development and maintenance of all DVR policies and procedures as well as implementation projects. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your proficient organizational background, as well as your ability to communicate with a wide array of people in an effective manner. By harmonizing these skills, you will prove to be an integral part of our DVR Planning, Performance, and Policy Unit and help us on our mission to Transform Lives!

Some of what you'll do:


  • Research and interpret state and federal law for the provision of guidance
  • Draft, revise, organize and maintain the online manual for Standard Operating Procedures
  • Develop and/or modification of WAC to reflect Federal regulations or legislative rules and statues.
  • Participate in workgroups that assist in the development of DVR policy guidance and that implement programmatic change
  • Assist in the creation, modification and review of all DVR forms
  • Assist in the development and modification of Washington Administrative Code

  • Ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple priorities within established timeframes
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and use multiple DVR specific software programs
  • Excellent customer service through timely and accurate responses and inquiries
  • Ability to communicate with management, peers, clients and the public

Who should apply?
Professionals with a bachelor's degree involving major study in rehabilitation counseling, public or business administration communications, writing, journalism, English or closely allied field
AND
One year of experience in analyzing, designing, and writing basic operating procedures, preferably within a public vocational rehabilitation services delivery setting
OR
Equivalent education/experience.
