Job Title: Driver 2nd Shift 3pm-11:30pm M-F

Location:South Chesterfield, Virginia

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a Driver (Yard Jockey) who will be responsible for responsible for providing support for trailer movement in Shipping and Receiving, as well as, assisting preparation of trailers for shipping and monitoring the status of loaded trailers.

What you will be responsible for in this role:

• Drive a tractor (semi-truck), maneuvering into position to attach trailer and coupling lines to secure.
• Clean and spot trailers to specified doors or lot locations.
• Inspect trailers for defects, perform preventive maintenance on yard tractor and submit inspection report indicating condition nightly.
• Inspect loaded trailers to ensure product is secure for transporting purposes. Report any issues to Department Supervisor or Lead.
• Drive tractor-trailer within yard or on property, within short distances outside of the yard/property, and to other company facilities. Applies knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering on the road and on Company premises.
• Maintains the trailer parking area to ensure trailers are parked correctly, not blocking areas.
• Meet position's physical demands by climbing in and out of the Tractor, coupling and uncoupling trailer connections.
• Repetitive bending, stooping, and moving.
• Must also be able to work in all types of weather conditions, rain, snow, sleet or sunshine.
• Other duties as assigned

What are the basic qualifications?

• HS Diploma/GED
• Two (2) years related driving experience is desired.
• Have 100,000-mile tractor-trailer experience is desired.
• Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Must have a CDL Class A or Class B license.
• Accident-free driving record for the past three years.
• Must pass DOT physical.
• Ability to read and comprehend labels, instructions, and bill of loading required.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations to verify quantities of product is required.
• May be required to perform specific tasks that involve standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling.
• Must be able to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 50 lbs).
