Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated, self-driven DOT Safety Compliance Coordinator to join our team working. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal regulations regarding hours-of-service and vehicle maintenance as outlined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). This position is also responsible for demonstrating expert knowledge of company-wide fleet management systems, Omnitracs, Whip Around, and training employees on their functions and features. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 1 year of experience in DOT Safety Compliance, above average organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Sunday - Thursday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Order DOT equipment as needed
  • Assist with thoroughly investigating and documenting all accidents, DOT Incidents, roadsides, etc.
  • Research, know and apply state, federal and industry specific compliance standards for safety
  • Assist in documenting and administering disciplinary action for all DOT violations
  • Complete corrective action reports and ensure the corrective action is taken
  • Review DOT programs, policies, and procedures to ensure effectiveness/compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Help with quarterly DOT newsletters
  • Administrative duties such as mailings, office organization, scanning bills, etc.
  • Daily organization, auditing, and updating tracking spreadsheets
  • Daily utilization and review of Whip Around; DVIRs, Faults, owner contact, admin/manager account set up
  • Roadside inspections and vehicle citations/warnings; investigation and corrective action, folder maintenance, monthly check of CSA website
  • DOT recordable accident record keeping compliance
  • Working with HR to ensure Driver Qualification (DQ) compliance
  • Track and ensure HOS compliance through Omnitracs
  • Truck Safety equipment and certifications/inspections
  • DOT safety enforcement as needed; counseling/re-training/discipline/write ups/separation
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Above average organization skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication
  • Gifted in the details
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Some experience with DOT or Safety compliance preferred
  • Acceptable background and MVR

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
