POSITION SUMMARY: The Donor Relations Manager supports the Sisters of the Holy Names at the regional level to strengthen donor relationships and deepen financial support for the SNJM mission and ministries. The DRM cultivates and develops relationships with donors and is a bridge between the donor’s desires and interests and the SNJM mission, with a goal of upgrading donations and retaining donors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Directly manage a portfolio of qualified donors drawn from both existing donors and new contacts.
  • Qualify a group of donors to create a portfolio of approximately 150 major and planned gift prospects in California.
  • Create individual goals for each person in the portfolio based on the donor’s history of giving and the organization’s knowledge of that donor’s potential.
  • Develop and implement step-by-step strategies (“moves management”) for each donor that will strengthen relationships and move them along the path towards greater engagement, including cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major and estate gifts to benefit the Sisters of the Holy Names and further their goals.
  • Effectively use the contact management system to record progress in implementing each donor’s plan and to create reports that reflect portfolio activity and performance
Communicate successes and challenges to the Advancement Director and other team members to collaboratively advance the mission of the Sisters of the Holy Names. As needed or requested, create timely reports as required that accurately reflect activity and performance.

2. Participate in regular meetings with the Advancement Director and other Advancement staff to ensure understanding of organizational priorities, collaborate to improve connections with all donors, and develop specific stewardship and solicitation strategies. Implement solicitation and stewardship strategies as appropriate.

3. In collaboration with SNJM Advancement staff, help to plan and/or attend events for donors and prospects in the DRM’s geographic territory.

4. Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 5 years’ proven experience in major and planned gift fundraising, preferably in religious organizations, and in cultivating and soliciting prospects capable of five- and six-figure gifts.

Salary: $78,000 - $88,950
