McNamara Pet Sitting is looking for a reliable, responsible, pet-loving person to join our team of pet care professionals.

This is a fun job for those that LOVE animals and have a flexible schedule. This is not a summer position! Please DO NOT apply if only avaliable for the summer.

What does a Pet Care Professional Do?

• Travel to and between clients' homes (this is all within Trumbull so best if you live in town or surrounding towns such as Monroe, Shelton, Easton, Fairfield, Stratford or Bridgeport) to visit, care for and walk dogs while their owners are at work, working from home or on vacation. Assignments may also occasionally include cats, and other small pets.
• Keep all pets safe and watch for changes in behavior or health and report any visible signs of injury, pain or discomfort to McNamara Pet Sitting management and pet owner via portal app.
• Pick up waste on walks or during backyard playtime (yes, there is a lot of poop cleaning!)
• Scoop litter boxes and maintaining a cleanly surrounding area
• Accompany management to meetings with new clients. Team members are always to represent the company in a professional and positive way!
• Follow management and clients' directions for walking, feeding, crating and other tasks required during a visit even if they do not always follow how you would care for an animal.
• Light clean-up of puppy messes, accidents, etc.
• Light household duties such as watering plants, rotating lights, washing pet bowls, etc.
• Secure clients' homes with keys and alarm codes upon leaving
• Maintain contact with McNamara Pet Sitting management and clients throughout the day via a portal app on smart phone.

What Can You Expect?

A pet care professional is a weekday part-time job. Some weeks will be busier than others depending on school schedules, holidays, etc. The school year is our busiest for daytime dog walking. Every day is different which makes it fun! You will develop relationships with so many awesome pets!

Our Pet Care Professionals make $18.00 an hour to start.

As our team grows and our business evolves. We are looking for someone to grow with our business as the business grows.

Requirements:

• Pass a criminal background check
• Valid driver's license - you will drive from house to house throughout your shift
• Reliable transportation (your own car) with valid insurance
• Be dependable and punctual - we run back to back appointments
• Smart phone to download work portal app
• Be a consistent communicator. Must reply to emails, texts and portal messages promptly and efficiently. Complete visit report card entries at the end of every single visit via smartphone.
• Available 10:30a-2p most weekdays, all is a huge plus.
• Willing to work outside in all weather conditions - yes we walk in the rain and snow!
• Ability to care for, handle, walk and restrain non-aggressive dogs of all different breeds and sizes.
• Ability to care for cats and small animals
• Physical ability to sit, walk dogs for 25 minutes at a time, climb stairs, bend down, and kneel
• Ability to self manage and budget time according to assigned shift and schedule
• Ability to follow rules, safety protocols and pay attention to detail
• Maintain a degree of flexibility. People have lives and their schedules change, just like ours! Sometimes appointments can be shifted, added or cancelled and we work it out as a team.
• Sign a non-compete contract

A LOVE dogs, cats, and other furry friends and prior experience in the pet care field is a big plus but not required.

We provide insurance, bonding, paid training, and all equipment required.

This is a W2 employment opportunity (taxes are withheld). Pay is weekly. Pay increase after successful completion of 90 days of employment and great job performance.
