Description:

The Department of Physical Therapy at Azusa Pacific University invites applications for a faculty position in our Doctor of Physical Therapy program. We are seeking candidates with a strong background in teaching and scholarship with preference for those in areas of research and cardiopulmonary practice.

Responsibilities:

• Teach, design curricula, and carry out research in their area of expertise
• Serve on departmental and university committees
• Coordinate and organize classroom support staff and student Teaching Assistants
• Responsible for daily electronic timekeeping as it applies to the scoop of this position
• Regular, punctual attendance as required by the supervisor based on department needs
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
• May be needed to work at alternative Regional Campuses or Sites.

Level: Rank and salary are commensurate with academic credentials and experience.

Qualifications:

• A physical therapist with an earned terminal academic doctorate (Ph.D. EdD. DHS, DSc) in physical therapy or a related field of study is preferred. All candidates without an earned post-professional degree must have an established plan of study for obtaining a degree.
• Applicants must be licensed or eligible for PT licensure in California; a defined research agenda and record of publications; a strong Christian commitment.
• Ability to organize classroom materials and schedules
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage details and follow through.
• Must be collaborative and an effective team member and team builder.

Experience:

• Prior academic or clinical teaching experience and specialization are valued assets as well as an earned post-professional (academic) degree.
• 3-5 years of higher education teaching experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of clinical experience as Physical Therapist in area of specialty preferred.

Compensation:

$103,123.00 - $133,123.00 is the annual salary for this role and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual salary may vary based on the qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to salary, APU offers a competitive benefits package.
