This is an exempt position with a not-to-exceed date of September 30, 2023, with renewal upon approval.

Salary: $3,837.00 per month

The State Recruiting Office will refer all inquiries regarding this exempt position to the Department of Defense, Hawaii Army National Guard.

The purpose of the Distributed Learning Program is to provide technical support for resources that deliver Distributed Learning capabilities within the State of Hawaii. Distributed Learning Program provides advanced information technology to meet Hawaii National Guard military training requirements and civilian training benefits. This position provides operational support for the Hawaii Army National Guard Distributed Learning Program and is responsible for the computer equipment and video teleconference systems at the Distributed Learning centers, statewide.

KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of computer applications; military structure and regulations pertaining to training and community involvement; federal and state procurement laws and regulations.

SKILLS / ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing including technical information and instructions; carry out procedures regarding training and evaluation; analyze data; provide solutions to problems; work with diverse groups of people; use basic Microsoft word, excel, and power point presentations; promote the usage of the Distributed Learning Classrooms with other military, public, private and or for charity organizations.

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience which involved the installation, configuring, operation, maintenance and repair of computer hardware and software, and video teleconferencing equipment.

Must possess: 1) Valid Driver’s License; and 2) Confidential Security Clearance

Conditions of Work: Must be available to work flexible hours and on weekends to support military drill periods, other scheduled training, and shared-use evolutions. Occasional overnight travel may be required to attend professional training or workshops and site visits to remote locations.

This position is exempt from the civil service and considered temporary in nature. Therefore, if you are appointed to the position, your employment will be considered to be "at will", which means that you may be discharged from your employment at the prerogative your department head or designee at any time.
