Position Summary
Responsible for leading the transportation team that oversees all store delivery and transportation support operations for ADUSA Distribution and Transportation (D&T), develop and implement strategies focused on optimizing P&L performance, and provide our customers with an excellent experience. The Director will work collaboratively with planning, warehouse, procurement, and other teams to maintain alignment on cross functional goals and targets. This position is also responsible for identifying and developing talents and skills required for running the business, as well as, developing talent and succession plans.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with leadership in the development and evolution of supply chain strategies and initiatives.
Provide strategic direction for implementation of strategies and defined business approaches within D&T that will support and align with overall strategies and initiatives for ADUSA.
Provides strategic direction for the evolution of the Logistics Operations organization.
Work collaboratively across departments to meet budgeted key performance metrics, which include, but are not limited to:
Sales and Net Contribution metrics. These key performance metrics are meant to be comprehensive in nature, but are not limited to the list above due to changing nature of business priorities.
Responsible for the relationship management of compliance, regulatory and industry groups.
Provide leadership that will motivate employees and function as an effective promoter of change and growth.
Provide leadership and support in a constantly changing environment.
Foster associate engagement, commitment and enthusiasm, ensuring associates understand their role in the company and its impact on overall Banner performance.
Promote consistent high performance and execution with excellence.
Maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors, and leverage economies of scale in negotiation.
Leads communication with internal and external business partners, and the vendor community.
Success in this role requires the individual to have and maintain a high degree of organizational and industry credibility.
Directly responsible for the oversight of $35M maintenance budget for 1300 tractors, 3000 reefer, and 2100 dry trailers.
Build internal and external partner relationships that drive long-term value to reliably deliver against expected performance KPI’s at or below budgeted goals.
Drives and influences cross-functional business partners to most efficiently manage ADUSA transportation and supply chain costs.
Deliver data driven and data supported priorities and recommendations to improve costs, quality, speed, enterprise value, and the customer experience.
Analyze expenditures and other financial information to develop capacity plans, forecasts, and budgets for increasing profits or improving Outbound operations.
Monitors operations to ensure staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, contracts and agreements, and government regulations.
Is a student of supply chain and transportation trade, staying current on innovative processes and solutions.
Participates in industry conferences and network with industry leaders and solution providers to monitor emerging technologies, trends, and best practices.
Partners with supply chain leaders to standardize operational processes, participate in carrier bid process and performance review, lead peak season readiness, and new vendor onboarding.
Develops and provides leadership for the creation and management of thorough control measures to ensure successful data processing and timely delivery while protecting data security and accuracy.
Integrates and deploys new capabilities to support the business priorities, including expanding capacity to support selection expansion, establishing flexibility in the network through dynamic sourcing and allocation inputs and enabling a reliable operations network optimizing service and cost.

Education

Minimum:
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

Preferred:
Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA)
Experience with organizational change management
Demonstrated project management expertise incorporating Six Sigma methodologies
Experience with category, merchandising, pricing, logistics, retail operations, supply chain, procurement, and distribution
Experience
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience. Experience with Supply Chain and Warehouse Operations a plus.
Strong experience developing, leading, and implementing transportation solutions that drive performance and cost improvements.
Strong financial planning and budgeting experience
Cross-functional project leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to build cross-functional teams
Demonstrated relationship management experience with vendors, brokers and third party consultants
