JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Office for Undergraduate Education in the College of Agricultural Sciences has an opening for the Director of Student Recruitment . The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, supervising, and evaluating college recruitment contacts, events, and related activities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead and coordinate the College Visitation Program, Open Houses, and school visits, as well as other recruitment related activities and events.
Development of college presentations for Campus Admission Programs and coordinate the distribution of recruitment materials via multiple formats to a variety of venues.
Management of college-wide Admission Follow-up and Accepted Student Program activities on campus and statewide as well as serve on a variety of college and university committees.
Development and oversight of media and coordination of surveys for marketing assessment and customer satisfaction.
Support and collaborate with the Coordinator of Multicultural Programs, Director of Campus Enrollment and Retention, Director of Academic Advising, Director of Career Services, Marketing and Communication, and academic departments to address the strategic plan for recruitment, as well as retention and admission initiatives and programs.
Collaborate with Office for Alumni Relations for alumni and student involvement events.
Direct all aspects of the Ag Advocate Organization.
Serve as College Marshal in Charge for the Spring Commencement Ceremony.
Supervise the graduate assistant for student recruitment and activities.
Support the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education on select initiatives and projects.
Education and experience:
This position will be filled as an Enrollment Services Specialist 5 and typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher; plus 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must have excellent communication, time management, problem solving, teamwork, and interpersonal skills. Experience in working with diverse audiences is essential. This position requires working evenings and weekends as needed.
Background checks:
This position requires the candidate to be an Authorized Adult. As such, this position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and the Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to clearances.

In addition, a 1-to-2-page recruitment perspective should also be included. The perspective should address the following two points: (1) Share the most significant trends, challenges, and opportunities you think will impact undergraduate recruiters over the next several years and (2) What are some unique or “special” challenges and opportunities for recruitment within the College of Agricultural Sciences (as distinguished from other colleges).
