Director of Pathways & Assessment
Title: Director of Paraprofessional Pathways Program (.5)
Director of Assessment for EDSE (.5)
Department: Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

Position Description
The staff position is twofold: .50 of the position is for the position of Director of Paraprofessional Pathways Program and .50 is for the Director of Assessment. The job will be for one person to coordinate both positions.

Duties & Responsibilities
Director of Pathways
  • Advising Pathway students for fall, spring and summer each academic year.
  • Maintaining the courses that are offered via Canvas online. This will include doing an observation of all of the classes in an academic year and monitoring the syllabi of each course.
  • Communicating with the chair of EDSE about current and future adjunct professors for the courses.
  • Previewing the main scheduled with the chair to discuss current and future coursework for the UG in Pathways and the MAT in Pathways
  • Communicate with the Director of Graduate Studies in Education to coordinate course offerings for the MAT
  • Maintaining advising files for each student and degree sheets and communicating with the support offices concerning Pathway’s students.

  • Digitize the Pathways records and student teaching documents in coordination with the Student Teaching Director and Placement Officer
Director of Assessment
  • Maintain and monitor department assessment documents in a safe and secure manner
  • Coordinate with the Certification Coordinator and Director of Accreditation to maintain our accreditation data and reports
  • Communicate with the chair of the department, the department and the university with up to date assessment data for DESE and AAQEP which entails reporting the data trends to the department and university
  • Coordinate with the Chair of the department to write and present the department report and Program Assessment reports due in October of each academic year.
  • Maintain digitize assessment reports
  • Assist the Student teaching Director and Placement Officer plus the Director of Accreditation and Department chair in maintaining our Alum teacher Blog

Education – Required
  • Earned degree in communications, math, or education
  • Knowledge and ability to navigate online and on campus courses as well as learning management systems and office tools to facilitate the position.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, self-direction, and professionalism
  • For Pathways position, initial teacher certification
Education – Preferred
  • Experience in education curriculum and program development
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in the field of teaching K-12 and/or higher education
  • Experience supporting students as an academic advisor
  • Community engagement as demonstrated through leadership in professional organizations, community service, community-based participatory research, or other relevant activities
  • Experience is professional growth in the field of education through work with teachers.
  • Excellent communication skills and expertise on Microsoft Office Suite and Statistical software
  • For Pathways, initial certification in teacher education
