Job description
As Medical Records Director, you collect, analyze, compile and store patient documents in our electronic health records system (PointClickCare). You make only necessary records available for resident care as authorized. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you uphold patient confidentiality and rights.:You will:
- Assemble patient charts and complete the admission procedure, acquiring missing paperwork from the discharge facility as needed
- Maintain physical and electronic records storage and access
- Assign appropriate diagnosis codes to the resident condition
- Evaluate and compile record requests in compliance with laws
- Audit open charts for completeness and report to managers for follow-up
- Assemble patient charts and complete the discharge procedure
- Adhere to HIPPA policy and procedure
- Protect resident rights
- Possess a high school diploma
- Are proficient in ICD-10 coding
- Have experience in long-term care and medical terminology
